Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Kaila Illsley! A social media strategist by day and a creative fanatic at night. I live with my wonderfully loving husband, Hunter, and two adorable Yorkies, May and Ivy, in Minnesota. We hope to soon grow our little family through adoption.
Shortly after getting married, I decided to pursue my creative passions, and rather than only create items for gifts, share my creative gift with the rest of the world. That was the beginning of Aqua Essence Co in the Fall of 2021.
It’s a joy of mine to create, but it is extra special to find customers who adore my works of art as much as I enjoy creating them. I pour a lot of time and energy into each piece to make sure it is of the best quality it can be. I don’t like to box myself in with a particular art style, but rather create what I feel inspired to. That leads to a fun variety of neutrals and color pops and dainty and statement styles.

My Materials
For earrings and jewelry dishes, I primarily work with polymer clay. It’s a great material if you’re someone like me that doesn’t want to wear heavy jewelry but still likes to wear fun earrings! It also makes for very durable jewelry dishes. A few other earring materials I have branched out into are wood, acrylic, faux leather, and macramé cord. All earrings I make are lightweight so you won’t ever have to worry about your earlobes getting stretched out.
Most of my bracelets are made from genuine semi-precious stones in a variety of beautiful colors. Some of the most popular stones are Tiger’s Eye, Agate, Malachite, and Jasper.
As someone with sensitive ears myself, I make sure to only use sterling silver or stainless steel for the metal components of my earrings. Additionally, I disinfect all posts and backs after assembling earrings before they are sent out in orders. That way you can rest assured!
